5TH SUNDAY POTLUCK/MUSIC NIGHT A NIGHT OF FOOD AND FUN
Wieners, Watermelon and Worship
We want to thank all who participated in our family night together. We had Wieners and JP's now world famous chili. We finished with Watermelon and a time of singing everything from hymns to upbeat contemporary. A special thanks to Sue Solstad and Shirley Ruthven for leading the music and making it a very special evening....Jennifer was able to pull every song requested up on media shout so we had the words on the screens for every song including the Hymns. Way to go JEN....

 Update on "Wheels For Jason"
THE LAS VEGAS BRASS BAND PERFORMED ON BEHALF OF "WHEELS FOR JASON"
It was great to see all of you who came and shared in such a fun and exciting evening. There were over 150 people in attendance and the place was hoppin' with the sounds of the brass band. One of the highlights of the evening was their special tribute to all of our military. The band played the theme songs from each of the branches of the military. The veterans were asked to stand when they heard their theme being played. What a great way to show honor and respect to those men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom. Just as we thought it couldn't get more exciting, Pastor Bill presented to Kim Farnsworth, on behalf of First Baptist Church and the Nevada Baptist Foundation, a check for $10,000 for "Wheels for Jason". Jason had just got home from the hospital that afternoon and was unable to attend; his mother couldn't wait to get home and share the exciting news with Jason.
VIRGIN VALLEY FOOD BANK CONCERT
A GREAT SUCCESS

A concert to benefit the Virgin Valley Community Food Bank was held Wednesday April 29th at 7:30 PM at First Baptist Church. The Southwest Symphony Chorale blessed us with an amazing evening of extraordinary Gospel Music. A special thank you to the Members of the Chorale as well as a thank you to all who brought donations for the food bank. OUR FOOD BANK SERVES OVER 200 FAMILIES IN MESQUITE AND IS SUPPORTED BY THE GENEROUS GIFTS AND DONATIONS OF PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU AS WELL AS OTHER CHURCHES IN TOWN.
