Preparing for the New Year

Where we are going is not where we have been.


I.  Because the Lord ____________

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  I say to myself, “ The lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentations 3:21-25 (NIV)


For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime!  Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30: 5


II. This Year we will face _____________ and _____________


     We Need Both!


By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:8 (NKJ)


Abide  in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15: 4-5 (NKJ)




III. This year we will look to God for ________________________.


…but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.

III. God will use people to bless us but He alone is our source of ______________.


 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:23


It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man.  Psalm 118:8 (NKJ)


Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  Test me in this, “says the Lord Almighty,” and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10 (NIV)
