TRUSTING GOD IN LIFE’S CHANGES

 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)

 

FOUR REALITIES OF LIFE:

 

  • THERE IS NO _______________ WITHOUT CHANGE.

 

  • THERE IS NO ___________________ WITHOUT LOSS.

 

  • THERE IS NO __________________ WITHOUT GRIEF.

 

  • THERE IS NO ____________________ WITHOUT PAIN.

 

PRINCIPLES FOR GROWING THROUGH CHANGE:

 

1.     ______________ FOR GOD.

        "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."  Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)

 

        “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29 (NIV)

 

2.     ASK FOR _____________.

                    "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."  James 1:5 (NIV)

 

        “Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”  Proverbs 24:14 (NIV)

3.     DON’T ASK ___________. ASK _______________ (AM I SUPPOSED TO LEARN FROM THIS).

        "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. " Philippians 4:12 (NIV)

 

        "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."      Matthew 11:29 (NIV)

 

4.     FOCUS ON WHAT ______________ CHANGES.

                     "I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed."  Malachi 3:6 (NIV)

 

        “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

 

5.     DON’T FACE THE CHANGE ____________.

        "Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."                    1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV)

 

                    "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."  John 13:34 (NIV)

 

6.     DECIDE TO ___________ _________ NO MATTER WHAT.

"Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him..."  Job 13:15a (NIV)
