Colossians 2:13-15

QUESTION: What do you picture in your mind when you think of freedom? _______________________

  1. AN EMPTY GRAVE. (vs.13)

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.”  Ephesians 2:4-5 (ESV)

“When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” 44 The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

John 11:43-44 (ESV)

  1. A SLATE WIPED CLEAN. (vs.13-14)

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” Ephesians 1:7 (ESV)

  1.  THE CROSS OF JESUS. (vs.14)

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”  2 Corinthians 5:21 (ESV)

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures.”

1 Corinthians 15:3 (ESV)

  1. A VICTORY PARADE. (vs.15)

“…The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8

“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.”

2 Corinthians 2:14

“So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.”

John 8:36 (ESV)
