A Faith That Works When Life Doesn’t – Part 9

Jesus: “God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.”  Matthew 5:9 (NLT)

“If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.”  James 3:13-15

“For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.”  James 3:16

“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. James 3:17-18

SIX SEEDS TO PLANT FOR PEACEFUL RELATIONSHIPS

  1. IF I'M WISE, I WON'T __________________ THE TRUTH.

“Real wisdom is first of all pure.”  James 3:17

“The Lord delights in pure words.”  Proverbs 15:26

“Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.”  Ephesians 4:15

  1. IF I'M WISE, I WON'T _________________ YOUR ANGER.

“Real wisdom is...peace Loving.”  James 3:17

“Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.” Proverbs 20:3

“People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.”  Proverbs 14:29

  1. IF I'M WISE I WON'T ______________ YOUR FEELINGS.

“Real wisdom is...gentle at all times.”  James 3:17

“We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. 2 We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. 3 For even Christ didn’t live to please himself. As the Scriptures say, “The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me.’”  Romans 15:1-3

“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

  1. IF I'M WISE, I WON'T __________ YOUR SUGGESTIONS.

“Real wisdom is...Willing to yield.”  James 3:17

“Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.” Proverbs 12:15

  1. IF I'M WISE, I WON’T ______________ YOUR MISTAKES.

“Real wisdom is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds.”  James 3:17

“Love prospers when a fault is forgiven but dwelling on it separates close friends.” Proverbs 17:9

“Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”  Proverbs 15:4

  1. IF I'M WISE, I WON'T ____________ OUR DIFFERENCES.

“Real wisdom shows no favoritism and is always sincere." james 3:17

“In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge...”  Colossians 2:3
