When The Delay Feels Like Denial
When the delay feels like denial, Mark 5 reminds us that Jesus is never too late. Jairus came to Jesus in desperation, but while Jesus was helping someone else, his daughter died. What appeared to be a devastating delay became an opportunity for Jesus to reveal His authority over fear, hopelessness, and even death. Jesus told Jairus, “Do not fear, only believe,” then entered the family’s deepest pain and restored the little girl with both power and tenderness. This passage calls us to keep bringing our impossible situations to Jesus, trust Him when His timing does not match ours, and build our hope on who He is. His delays are not neglect, and what looks final to us is never beyond His authority.
