Will You Follow Jesus Or Just Watch Him? 05/24/2026

This powerful exploration of Mark chapter 3 challenges us to examine the nature of our relationship with Jesus. We discover that while crowds flocked to Jesus seeking healing and miracles, He was looking for something deeper than transactional faith. The passage reveals a beautiful truth: before Jesus sent the twelve apostles out with purpose and authority, He simply called them to be with Him. This profound invitation reminds us that our spiritual journey begins not with performance or ministry accomplishments, but with intimate relationship. Like those early disciples who were fishermen, tax collectors, and even political opposites, we are reminded that Jesus calls ordinary people. The zealot who hated Romans walked alongside Matthew who worked for Romans, unified by their common devotion to Christ. This teaches us that our differences fade when we center our lives on Jesus. The message confronts our tendency to seek God primarily for what He can give us rather than for who He is, asking us to pursue relationship over benefits and to stop disqualifying ourselves from His service based on our perceived inadequacies.
