Who Is In Charge Of Your Life? 05/10/2026

In Mark 2:23–28, Jesus confronts a religious system that had turned the Sabbath from a gift of rest into a burden of rules. When the Pharisees criticize His disciples for picking grain on the Sabbath, Jesus reminds them that God’s commands were never meant to crush people, but to lead them into life, mercy, and freedom. By declaring that “the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath,” Jesus reveals His ultimate authority over every area of life—including our religion, traditions, time, priorities, and decisions. This message challenges us to move beyond simply saying we believe in Jesus and to ask whether He is truly in charge of how we live. The central takeaway is clear: it is not enough to believe in Jesus—He must be Lord of your life.
