What Happens When I Choose Jesus Over Everything Else? 04/12/26

In Mark 1:35–45, Jesus shows us that choosing Him over everything else brings clarity, purpose, compassion, and obedience. In the middle of pressure, crowds, expectations, and urgent needs, Jesus withdrew to spend time with the Father, reminding us that our lives must be anchored in God before we respond to the demands around us. From that place of prayer, Jesus stayed focused on His mission, refused to be driven by popularity, moved with compassion toward the broken and rejected, and called people to obey—not merely be amazed. This passage challenges us to prioritize closeness with Jesus so that our schedules, relationships, decisions, and compassion flow from His direction rather than from pressure, busyness, or people’s expectations.
